Hi guys,
Thank you Steve and RS for all your empirical knowledge and/or historicity on the subject. Steve, you are right, it is a pan-Christian situation throughout the world, the taking over of our sacred spaces. Thank you for your meaningful prayer Fr. Rich at the end of the podcast. We needed it. I wish I had some productive thoughts or holy wisdom to share but I don’t. Other than ‘why the Hell can’t we all get along ecumenically’?! Today was the first time I learned anything about the Hagia Sophia. However, I worry about Erdogan’s motive. It can’t be good. I don’t like his example shown to the world either.
The only thoughts I have are from Revelations, and they are somber ones. A series of Antichrists throughout history comes to mind, and the eventual Holy War that takes place just before the return of Christ. My other thoughts parallel Fr. Rich’s as far as so much violence in the world right now.
I think my faith is the true faith but I only want it spread throughout the world peaceably. I am pro-choice because we all have free will. I agree with Fr. Rich that an ecumenical solution should have been made but that wasn’t Erdogan’s point, or even the point of Islam.
Stay safe and well everyone, and practice social distancing Fr. Rich and RD.
Hey Guys,
Love the shows, every time I get something from it.
However, I don’t think you are aware of this, but an ad running on your video on Apple Podcast, as well as the audio link on this very page, is for a movie with a plot centered around a sex-doll.
I think there is some sabotage occurring. Please check it out.
I enjoyed your program and for sure it is a great loss, having some very strong feelings for Orthodoxy going to the Hagia Sophia has been on my bucket list for some time.
I do respect your comments, although brief, on the effects of the 4th Crusade on East West relations… It should be mentioned that many of the popular tourist attractions in Venice are the plunder of the 4th Crusade. Having traveled extensively in the Middle East (but not Turkey) it is difficult to explain the massive complexity of politics – religion – social control – power structure, paranoia, and history that are absolutely everywhere. Although all things are possible through Christ, the dream of Peace in the Middle East remains elusive.

PS: Don’t forget to celebrate Columbus Day on October 12. Columbus is an examplar of Catholic Faith! Columbus is a great guy! Read https://www.tfp.org/the-catholic-spirit-of-christopher-columbus/ He is really the patron of evangelization! St Christopher carried the infant Jesus across a river. Christopher Columbus carried Jesus across an ocean resulting in the largest conversion to Christ in history!
