    Hi guys,
I want to participate too in that return process and redemption. Mary, full of grace, had the humility and obedience to accept God’s will. As a member of His creation with free will she could have said no, but didn’t. She felt blessed instead. She became the mother of Jesus. She became the mother of us all.

The amount of hatred Satan has for mankind because we can be redeemed is doubled when he considers Mary. Mary is our conduit to Jesus. The Magnificat makes me wonder if Mary knew she was redeeming Eve and that Jesus would be redeeming Adam. We know that now but did she know that then? The new Eve. Her role required the absence of sin which is what being in a state of grace means according to the writings of St. Irenaeus.

I wonder if that is true what Pope Francis believes that when Mary is in your home Satan doesn’t enter. The rosary is a powerful tool against Satan. I believe that because I pray it every day and the devil tries to keep me from doing so. I find myself some days yawning a great deal during my prayers as if I were trying to expel the devil from me. Other days he distracts me with nasty thoughts about others. I totally believe that we come under attack each time we pray the rosary which means it is a powerful tool of spiritual warfare. I like to think of the devil writhing in pain from each rosary being said across the world. It lessens his power. Praying to God lessens his power. Loving God lessens his power. Loving mankind lessens his power.

I pray to St, Michael the Archangel twice daily as he and Mary fight Satan for us and with us. We are not alone in our battle against Satan.

Father Rich, your golden tones are far superior to Father Mike Schmitz. His Latin closing hymn rendition of the Hail Holy Queen is lovely, but doesn’t hold a candle, so to speak, to you. Own it, revel in it, and continue to convert hearts with the verve and humour you weave into your visceral Faith.
Blessed be the Name of Jesus.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse.

PS – the baseball example, the books by CSLewis, etc. hit their mark!
