  1. Andrea says:

    Hi guys,
What a great idea for a show! I traveled in the Way Back Machine to the time of my parents. They loved Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen and my father read his prolific and erudite works because he was unafraid to tell the truth and he had a clear vision into what was wrong in his day which is still wrong today. He was a brilliant extremely well-educated prescient man. (I didn’t hear him call it the Silent Majority but I thought he said the Silent Minority for cancel culture and/or elitism and a group of people who want to destroy and not build up.)

The devil’s greatest trick is that he doesn’t exist. “I am who am not.” Words of wisdom from Fulton J. Sheen and he hit the nail on the head. People deny him by denying that we are all under spiritual warfare daily. We are under siege as the devil keeps a scoreboard going as to how many souls went to God and how many went to him. God believes we will ultimately do good and the devil believes we will ultimately do bad.

Thank you for the compliment of having this great showman on. You used your imagination to do good. Fulton Sheen swirled his cape like a spiritual matador. He went after the devil. I also love his definition of false compassion. Yes, Ryan Scheel people want to choose who their neighbor is or isn’t which is not the truth of the parable of the Good Samaritan. Our neighbor is the next guy.

Marketing is based upon a categorized algorithm. We have all been reduced to a series of numbers needed for political wins or for the consumption of goods and services.

God is very much alive. “God loves each of as if there were only one of us.” St. Augustine

I know God is in my life and in my heart. The Holy Spirit was always hard at work within Fulton J. Sheen. He was a man of our time and every man’s time.

    1. Anne Rome says:

      Great show with Bishop Sheen

  2. John Francis says:

Thank you for the great show. I was brought to emotion a couple of times as did Fr Rich.
Still remember watching Archbishop Sheen on the black and white tv as a youngster and believe he beat Ed Sullivan? and Steve Allen for viewership in the time slot. Don’t quote me. A most important little book is “School of Darkness by Bella Dodd in which Bishop Sheen helped Bella to leave communism behind for the glory of God. Some Church problems have their cause exposed. Cannot recommend enough. It’s online as a off, but books …
Again , well done and may God continue to bless you and your families.
    John

The episodes 150 certainly gave a review of the past few years. Perhaps you could follow up with a discussion of Pope Francis’s encyclicals Laudato Si and Fratelli Tutti. I think both of these encyclicals and certainly much of Pope Francis’s approach follow the teaching of Christ asthe two greatest commandment.

  6. Donna Beedy says:

Thank you for the footings on Fulton Sheen. Had heard a lot about him but never heard him speak. Very powerful speaker that grabs your attention and keeps it.
